What is Hour of Code?

Hour of Code is an international initiative started by the beautiful people at code.org.

The idea is to expose as many kids to computer programming as possible. To that end, Hour of Code events are run all around the world in schools, libraries, community centers, and just about anywhere else you’ll find kids.

In one hour (more or less) kids show up and do a fun coding activity that teaches some basic concepts to computer programming.

Due to limited devices able to be provided by the Kansas Public Library, it is highly recommended that children are signed up for this event.

Participants will need a library card to sign up for the coding program. It's completely free!
