Join Muskogee author M.J. Van Deventer, and co-author Dan Williams, as they discuss their forthcoming true crime novel Madeline Gets Life.

Madeline Gets Life is the true life account of a would-be actress from Stillwater, Oklahoma, who falls for a jewel thief in New York City and gets caught up in a sensational murder in 1942. Author M.J. Van Deventer was the society editor at the Stillwater News-Press when Madeline returned home after a quarter century in prison and she has stories to tell about their meetings.

Explore Oklahoma history by hearing audio from Madeline herself. Hear how people in her hometown rejected Madeline after her prison sentence, when she moved in with and was romantically involved with another woman.
