Solar Eclipse Activities
Low impact exercise to help with balance and mobility as you age. Free of charge.
SAIL is a fitness program for older adults, which can be done sitting or standing. Performing exercise that improves strength, balance, and fitness is critical for staying active and reducing the risk or falls. The SAIL program was designed with these principals in mind. Each class includes warm-up, stretching, cardio, balance, and strengthening exercises, as well as a cool down period.
In partnership with the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative, SAIL is an exercise program designed for seniors that can be done seated or standing.
Storytime makes learning fun! Storytimes act as an integral part of early literacy education by introducing young children to books, rhymes, music, and other literacy-based activities. Ages 5 and under
Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is an evidence-based fall prevention program that was designed to be used in community-based organizations. Accumulating evidence suggests that Tai Chi eight-form exercises are an effective means of improving balance, functional limitations, and muscle strength, which reduce the risk of falling.

Pop in for popcorn and eclipse glasses on April 8th from 12pm- 2pm.

Chair Exercise: Grab Your Chair and Get Movin'—Light movement in working your core and muscle groups. Chairs are provided.
Join us as we watch the near 100% eclipse of the sun by the moon. The peak of the solar eclipse will take place at approximately 1:49 pm (CST). Solar eclipse glasses will be available as long as supplies last.

In partnership with the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative, Julie Klineline will introduce seniors to a series of slow, continuous movements. Classes will be held at the Indian Capital Technology Center in Sallisaw.
